Movies

Blogging Assignment 2

The  first steps in movie making are:
  • Screenwriting
  • Directing
  • Producing
  • Acting
  • Editing
During the 1890's the type of films that was being made were silent movies.

In the 1920's sound was added to films and suddenly actors needed something to say.

Some people that wrote Hollywood scripts wereWilliam Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Bertolt Brecht, and Thomas Mann. Their earnings ranged from $6000 to just $1250 a film.
Writers must be able to create an idea and details for a story, set a scene and build relatable characters, but they also have to be able to give these character enough backstory to know what they would be able to say in their situation.

Screenwriters today are paid as well as directors and producers are, and their work is considered an art. Screenplays are often published and sold to the general public in bookstores just like novels and plays, and is of a much higher prestige then it used to be.

Blogging Assignment 3

1. Assembling the correct members is essensial in creating the right team to create a film. The right people will bring the right aspect for the production in their own niche. The producer normally hires the crew of the production, where as the director hires the cast like the leading actors.

2. when the script is finaly written, rewritten and rewritten again the film can go into the filming portion. The film is shot until every scene is done, some scenes may be slightly changed or rearanged during filming. Then begins post-production, where every bit of film is edited, sound is added or removed, things are cut added or rearranged into proper order, sound effects are added special effects are added. More time is put into this portion than any other part of the film making process.
